On Thursday 8th Dec, I went along to the launch of Seymour Place Music, Sylvia Young and Simon Hannings record label. The night consisted of sitting round tables whilst being presented with, what hopefully will be, some of the music stars of the future. I have to say, I was extremely impressed by all the acts that performed. First was Tariq, 14, who reminded me a bit of Britains Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi, mainly due to his insanely high range. Interview: Lee Mead

Lee Mead was born in Southend-on-Sea, son of a cab driver. After leaving college Lee worked on ferries singing to passengers on the Bay of Biscay, but things were soon to take a dramatic turn… While performing in The Phantom of the Opera, Mead auditioned for the BBC series Any Dream Will Do to play Joseph.  Mead was selected as one of the top 20 finalists, and eventually won the role nine weeks later. Following his successful run as Joseph in the West End, Mead took on a new challenge.  From January 12th 2010 at the Theatre Royal Windsor he starred in a touring revival of Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime, adapted by Trevor Baxter as a Victorian comic melodrama, from the short story by Oscar Wilde.
